
Congress president Rahul Gandhi
has asked the party leaders of all Northeastern states to intensify
organizational activities and Lok Sabha preparations without spoiling time,
according to sources.
The general elections are scheduled to take place in
April.
Rahul, who had a meeting with party leaders of all NE
states in Guwahati yesterday, has instructed to launch sweltering campaign to
counter BJP in the region which send as many as 25 MPs in the Lok Sabha.
Two general secretaries- Luizinho Falerio and Harish
Rawat looking after the party affairs in the Northeastern states, remained
present in the North East Congress Coordination Committee (NECCC).

Debbarman, former PCC presidents- Birajit Sinha and Gopal Roy also remained
present in the meeting.
"Rahul Gandhi has asked all party leaders of all the
NE state to get ready for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. His aim is to win
at least 20 Lok Sabha seats in the generation election", said a party leader
over telephone from Guwahati this morning.
He added, "Congress president has passed necessary
instructions to reach out to the people with the anti-people policies of the
Narendra Modi led government before the Lok Sabha elections. And, we will soon
kick start Lok Sabha campaign in Tripura".
The trio- Pradyot, Birajit and Gopal are expected to
return state today and will have a PCC meeting to chalk out a strategy for the
Lok Sabha elections.
