
In a major successful operation and within 48
hours of the incident of robbery from the petrol pump of Maharani under Udaipur
subdivision, police on last night arrested five dacoits involved in robbery
case, who are all surrendered militants of NLFT factions.
The incident of robbery was held at 7.27 PM on Monday
evening, where a group of armed miscreants robbed the cash section of the
petrol pump and looted away about Rs. 2.5 lakh in gun point.
Monitoring the CCTV
footage and other substantial evidences, the district police led of DIG
(Southern Range) Arindam Nath and SP (Gomati) Avula Ramesh Reddy, additional SP
Jyotishman Das Chowdhury, OC Killa police station started massive search
operation to trace the dacoits involved in the incident.
On Wednesday night after series of operations police
arrested five surrendered militants of NLFT, associated with BM and NB
factions. Police also recovered Rs. 50,000 cash amount, a motor bike and a
dragger under their possession. Arrested dacoits were identified as Falgun Hari
Jamatiya of Ampi, Sarik Debbarma of Abhoynagar area of Agartala, Victor
Jamatiya, Pushpasadhan Jamatiya and K V Malsom, all are residents of Killa area
of Udaipur subdivision.
Police sources added that manhunt has been continuing to
arrest other culprits responsible for the robbery and the weapons, which were
used during robbery.
