TRIPURA CPM TO HOLD PROTEST AGAINST CITIZENSHIP AMENDMENT BILL ON FEB 4

Agartala, Jan 31 (UNI) As part of its nationwide agitation, CPI-M state committee today announced that it will hold a protest demonstration against the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016 in the state on February 4 next.

The CPI-M state secretary Goutam Das alleged that the central government was attempting to implement the citizenship bill as part of its communal political design.

He said the Centre was "playing with fire". The proposed bill met fierce resentment from a large section of the people of the northeast and was creating unrest in the region, but the BJP was undeterred to achieve its narrow political interest, Sarkar alleged.
